Mario Suárez, a native of the region of Asturias, is a teacher by profession, a bird photographer by vocation and the founder of the Association of Nature Photographers of Asturias (AFONAS).
His career as a photographer began at the age of thirteen, when his father gave him his first SLR camera. After shifting over the digital technology, he began taking photographs of fauna, especially birds.
For the last fifteen years, he has spent countless hours taking photos of sea birds and their migration from the northern coast of Spain, which has turned him into a major expert on the topic.
Throughout his career, he has worked with many different domestic and foreign publications, which have published his images. He has also taken part in several exhibitions and presentations on bird photography.
Throughout his career, Mario Suárez has received some of the most important international nature photography awards, including National Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year, Montier, Nature’s Best Photography, FIO, SEO and Bid Photographer of the Year. And he has participated as a member of the jury for the Princess of Asturias Awards.
He will be at Madrid Photo Fest to give an interesting conference on nature photography. How to capture the right moment, and what techniques can be used to find a perfect balance between nature and photography.
